After two years of crisscrossing the globe showcasing his new album and book, and directing his first feature film, musician-poet C.R. Avery and the Storm Collective, will be putting on an “all bets are off hell raising” concert. Concertgoers can expect a C.R. Avery in fine prose form. Hosted by Vancouver's own Ian Cromwell of Locals Lounge.
Victory on East Hastings is an art house film comprised of original poetry and songs penned over the last 20 years by C.R.Avery and tells the story of a performance troop of misfits, known for their risque burlesque spins on rock-n-roll and old school hip-hop, who decide to mount a ballet after old rehearsal notes, music, and photographs from the original are anonymously mailed to their east side studio loft. The feature film is a fictional portrayal of Victory! a ballet that was banned in Berlin due to its provocative storytelling, threats to communism, and potential to cause riots.
