About the artists:
Madelyn Read's heart lies in the rural tales of Folk/Americana music though she spent her whole life in the city of Vancouver BC. This duality of urban and country is ever present in her music, as she pulls inspiration from Folk/Americana groups like I’m with Her, Joni Mitchell, and First Aid Kit and blends these sounds with lyrics about growing up in an urban centre.
Madelyn's debut album Concrete Country represents a modern Canadiana that asks, “What does it mean to live in a North American city in the 21st century?” Madelyn’s nostalgic and haunting songs feel like a lonesome train ride through the prairies that brings you straight into a bustling downtown core. An ode to home that is full of love and frustration, Concrete Country is a striking, thought-provoking, and heart-warming collection for the urban lover of folk.

davis & james is the west coast duo of an indie-folk songwriter and a classical musician exploring the intersection of their respective soundscapes: an evolving conversation between vocals and violin against a film-grain backdrop of acoustic guitar. Collaborating throughout the show-less months of covid, the duo was conceived as an exploration of a new soundscape: the intersection of their classical and indie-folk roots, with influence from the artists who got them through quarantines: Leif Vollebekk, Whitney, Leon Bridges, S. Carey, Raveena, The Japanese House, and, of course, Joni Mitchell, the staple of their pandemic playlists.

Chaya Harvey is a one of a kind songwriter who harnesses ethereal vocals and sparse instrumentation to build a world of transcendent, melancholic beauty.
Chaya's songs are draped in the traditions of folk and early country music, with glimmers of the English Folk Revival period. Crooning dreamy melodies, and tender lyrics, Chaya's distinct voice breathes new life and perspectives into old music.
Fresh on the live performance scene in Vancouver after her latest record release "Born in Spring", Chaya Harvey is destined to go far and wide with her soft serenades.
