Combining local talents and weaving together the powerful works for live music and the captivating performance of drag, this is a show you won’t want to miss. Curated to highlight each artist’s talents and also compliment each other, each set is paired together to bring you a night you soon won’t forget! Powerhouse vocals, striking stage presence, and heartbreaking melody’s are what make Kate Yahn a triple threat in Vancouver’s music scene.
Having released a handful of singles, teasing listeners with her original music during appearances at NXNE (Toronto, ON), Rifflandia (Victoria, BC), and Spring 2024 Treefort Music Fest (Boise, Idaho), and while you may have yet to meet her, her 70s-esque sound and soaring belts comfort us like the classics of Stevie Nicks and Carole King.
Reinventing the familiar, inspired by a decade known for expression and musical freedom, Yahn is embarking on a new journey influenced by the modern day, announcing her debut EP, to be released Fall 2024.
With the backdrop of her mid-twenties in tow, Yahn’s latest record is rooted in empowered vulnerability where the edge of rock and roll is met with the innocence of experiencing life’s many firsts. Navigating love, wild heartbreak, and identity, Yahn grapples with her coming of age, fighting to stay curious in a time where love needs revival.
WALLGRIN is the experimental pop project of Vancouver-based composer, vocalist and violinist Tegan Wahlgren. Drawing from an array of musical influences — including a background in Celtic fiddle and choral singing — Wallgrin’s sound moves between lush string-based orchestration, beat-driven pop and ornate vocal arrangements. Their spirited and raw live performances have led them to perform at Iceland Airwaves, The Great Escape (UK), Tallinn Music Week (Estonia), and FOCUS Wales. Wallgrin’s sophomore album, Yet Again The Wheel Turns, was released in 2022.
